During this tour, we will visit 5 different restaurants, all of which are hidden gems, and taste traditional Icelandic cuisine. Afterward, we will explore the Hvamsvik lagoons on the fjord shore. There are 8 natural hot springs that glide into the ocean, surrounded by majestic mountains. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner with local seafood soup at the restaurant at the Hvamsvik lagoon.

Arnarstapi - Hellnar - Kirkjufellsfoss - Shark museum - Stykkisholmur - Varmahlid

Today, we will explore the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We will visit the local fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, which were fishing centers in the 17th and 18th centuries. Then, we will move to one of the many magical waterfalls in Iceland, Kirkjufellsfoss. We will also visit The Shark Museum, which explains the origins of Hakarl (fermented shark), the national dish of Iceland. We will find out how to cook Greenland shark without being poisoned and taste this unique delicacy. Lunch will be at a seafood restaurant that has received the Swan environmental certification, which is an official Nordic environmental label. Afterward, we will have a long transfer to the North.

Overnight at Hofsstadir country hotel or similar.

Siglufjörður - Herring museum - Brewery degustation - Beer spa - Akureyri

We will start the day in Siglufjörður, the capital of herring in Iceland. In 1903, production and processing of this fish began here. In just 40 years, a small village turned into the 4th largest city in Iceland. At that time, all the work and life of the city revolved around the herring. It was the gold rush of Icelandic history. People came here to earn money from all over Iceland and neighboring Scandinavia. It’s a truly picturesque and stunningly beautiful harbor. Next, we will visit the herring museum, which delves deeply into the unique history of the herring gold rush times, experiencing actual factories and extensive photo histories. Then, we will move to a brewery, where we will have a degustation of Seagull 67 brewery (1 hour, 4-5 different beers) and lunch. If you wish, you can relax in beer baths at the beer spa. You will have free time in Akureyri, which you can use for whale watching in the summertime.

Overnight at Hotel Kea or similiar

Godafoss - Mývatn - Hverir - Dettifoss - Egilstadir

Today, we will continue to discover the North Regions. We will start with Godafoss waterfall, then move to extraterrestrial landscapes - Hverir, which looks like Mars. Locals believe that Lucifer fell from the heavens here. Behind Mars, we will see Moon-like landscapes and the most powerful waterfall in Iceland. You will have lunch on the Icelandic farm Vogafjos with the best fresh farm-raised beef in Iceland.

Overnight at Egilsstadir Herad Berjaya Iceland or similar.

Hvalnes - Vestrahorn - Viking village - Hofn

Deep fjords along the coast are a characteristic feature of East Iceland. Most of the settlements in this area are located on the shores of just such fjords. The shores of the fjords turned out to be a convenient place for harbors in which numerous fishing vessels were located. Höfn is the biggest city in the region, additionally known for being the one and only lobster capital of Iceland. In this region, we will see National reserves Hvalnes, which means whale peninsula, and “Horny mountain” - Vestrahorn, Eystrahorn, and Brunnhorn mountain, aka Batman mountain. It’s perfect places for taking pictures of the extraordinary mountains and ocean. Dinner will be in a traditional fishing restaurant in Hofn where you can taste lobsters, Atlantic tuna, cod, lamb, or even horse for the more adventurous gastronomes.

Overnight at Hofn.

Jökulsárlón - Diamond beach - Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon - Vik

In the morning, we will drive to an area where blockbuster movies were filmed such as Batman, James Bond, and Lara Kroft. Experience the glacier lagoon filled with miniature icebergs and large blocks of ice. This ice lagoon has become one of the most popular attractions in Iceland due to its breathtaking beauty. The lagoon is called Jökulsárlón, or ice lagoon in Icelandic. If we are lucky, we will see seals on icebergs. Then our tour takes us to Diamond Beach with large pieces of ice strewn along black sands. Glittering ice diamonds in the sun. On our way, we will stop near the incredible Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon (if weather allows us).

Reyynisfjara beach - Dyrhólaey- Skogafoss - Seljalandfoss - Hveragerdi

Today, we will discover the South coast of Iceland. We will start from the small village Vik with famous rock formations named Troll’s fingers. Then we will move to Reynisfjara black sand beach. This Icelandic beach owes its black color to the nearby volcanoes. During a large number of eruptions, a huge amount of lava poured onto the surface. This lava formed the entire island of Iceland. For many thousands of years, sea waves destroyed coastal rocks turning lava into magnificent beaches. And at the end of the day, we will try to walk behind Seljalandfoss waterfall. Dinner will be in a Viking restaurant with arctic char or local duck and lamb.

Overnight at Fosshotel Lind or similar.

On this day, we will come back to Reykjavik and will have a relaxing day at the World Famous Blue lagoon. Blue lagoon is one of 25 World miracles, because of its incredible color and pure quality of water.
